Spring/Summer
Spring/Summer season: At the higher age levels (Triple A and above) teams are determined by drafting players from registration and valuation lists. Only registered players will be considered in the draft. Parent requests for pairing of players (e.g., to facilitate car pools) can rarely be accommodated. Sibling requests will be honored. Drafts for baseball and softball will be held in mid to late March. All players will be notified of their teams prior to April. Other key dates can be found on the official RBSA calendar.
Fall Ball
The intention of Fall Ball is a balance between instruction and competition beginning the week of September 8, running six weeks through October 20, weather permitting. Due to limited field availability Fall Baseball will be limited to Ridgewood students currently enrolled in first through sixth grade. All players will be assigned to leagues and teams based on their grade level as of September 2025. Weekday workouts will be scheduled alphabetically by first initial of last name, not by team as in prior years. All players will get one weekly 60-minute group practice Monday-Thursday between the hours of 3:30-6:30 pm. Grades 1-3 will also play one game on Sunday each week. Group practice sessions will be led by current and alumni RHS players. Players will be assigned the same time slot for the full six-week program.
Each first through third grade team will get one weekly game on Sunday.
Player and coach registration is now open in Community Pass. The player fee for Fall Ball is $200.
The RBSA is a volunteer driven organization. For this program to be successful we need two things, register before August 15 and volunteer to coach / assistant coach.
Specific teams and schedules will be shared in late August. Schedules will be deliver the first week of September.
The weekday practice session is assigned alphabetically by last name, and the teams for weekend games will be grouped by school and then randomized.
