New 2011 Equipment Changes from Little League affecting both Rec and Travel programs:

No composite barrel bats are allowed at any level of Recreational RBSA Baseball and Softball grades K-12. Wood bats, and most metal-only (aluminum /alloy) bats are still allowed.

Note: Little League Majors---see Majors page for LL details / exceptions.

Note: Bonvarlet Seniors --must use wood bats only.

Rec: Please contact your RBSA League Commissioners with specific questions.

Travel Baseball: some Leagues may allow composite bats--coaches will advise.

Travel Softball: most Leagues allow composite bats--coaches will advise.

The RBSA officers and trustees meet at Lester Stable, usually on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM. (8:00 pm during rec season) Meetings are open to the public--your participation is encouraged and appreciated. See Calendar for dates and times.

2011 RBSA Pitch, Hit and Run Contest, April 30th, 2011

The Ridgewood Baseball and Softball Association hosted a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth on April 30th after the baseball parade.

Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2011 MLB All-Star Game.

The individual Pitching, Hitting and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age and gender group are advancing to the Sectional Level of Competition.
