Season:
First, welcome and thank you for volunteering, as you are
truly the backbone of this wonderful program. Periodically, there will be
emails from the Board to make sure everyone is getting
the same message. See the RBSA Calendar on
www.rbsa.us for important dates regarding
team selections, notifications, and events / dates
through championship playoffs.
1. FIELDS
OPENING--Fields are
tentatively scheduled to open last week in March.
Commissioners have your division’s practice schedule and
will be in touch shortly to workout individual team
schedules for field access up until game commencement.
2. EQUIPMENT
Distribution – All equipment will be
distributed according to the schedule on Calendar Page,
usually first weekend in March:
Softball

(1st & 2nd Grade, Ponytail, Junior, and Seniors)

(1st Grade BB, Paskalides 2nd & 3rd
Grade, LL Minors, LL Majors, Bonvarlet)
All equipment is distributed at the storage sheds on
Hollywood Ave in Ho-Ho-Kus (heading north on Franklin
Turnpike, take a left on to
Hollywood at the blinking yellow light – proceed
over the railroad tracks and stay right – BB is at shed
#3024 and SB is at shed # 3027. Kindergarten
Instructional DO NOT have to pick up any equipment.
Please note that all equipment boxes have had their
locks changed. Be sure to pick up a new key in order to
obtain things like bases, first aid kits, etc. You
should remind equipment managers in case they forget as
they will be extremely busy distributing equipment.
UNIFORM
Distribution --
IMPORTANT REMINDER --
No one will be given uniforms without having submitted a
LL Volunteer Application
along with a copy of a photo ID.
If you don't have both of these items with you or you
haven't submitted them to your commissioner recently,
you will be turned away. It's not an RBSA rule! It is
a necessary requirement of OUR liability insurance
coverage. No Forms, No Uniforms!
Mark Your
Calendars!!! -- The
Annual RBSA Parade and
Game-Day/ Family Fun
Fair is scheduled for
mid/late April.
You will be notified separately with specifics for this event
as we get closer. See Calendar.
Ready, Set,
Relax!!! -- In observance of this event,
NO PRACTICES
should be held after
6:00 p.m. See schools' Calendars for specific
dates/times.
COACHES' CLINIC AND CERTIFICATION
COACHING CLINIC: March--date/time
TBA---Thank You Kurt Hommen, Head Coach for RHS Varsity Baseball,
for
hosting this free coaching clinic for RBSA baseball coaches at all levels.
RHS has done this for us many times; it is always valuable,
informative, and fun. Anyone interested in coaching or assisting is strongly
encouraged to attend.
Rutgers SAFETY
Clinic -- Usually late
March.See Calendar. You can register online at
www.ridgewoodsports.org The $35
fee will be reimbursed after completion of the course.
All coaches, as required by
Little League, must attend (one time only) the Rutgers
S.A.F.E.T.Y. Clinic for Volunteer Coaches. It is held at Valley Hospital on
several dates throughout the year. To register for one of the available Valley Hospital clinics,
please call: 1-800-Valley-1. REGISTER EARLY as these sessions fill fast.
In addition, the RBSA continues to sponsor coaches' training courses to improve
teaching skills and the effective managing of players

All coaches need to have a
LL Volunteer Application completed by March 30. Please be sure to
include a copy of a government issued ID (e.g., state issued license or
passport) as well. You can find and print a copy of the LL Volunteer
Application by

UMPIRES
The
RBSA uses both youth and carded umpires. We insist that all players, parents and
coaches respect the authority of the umpire.
PARENTS/COACHES
Please
remember, baseball is a GAME. It is meant to be fun for the Kids.
